Credibility is a funny thing, especially in the public eye. Most people have at least some credibility, some have great credibility, others not so much. There are plenty of people with little credibility, and even some with zero credibility, but there are only a select few with negative credibility. John Rocker happens to be one of those few.
I am not disputing anything Rocker said, for all I know it could be 100% true, however, this, coming from a person that denied steroid use for years and years and then admitted to it when his name came up, coming from a man who was suspended over 70 games from the MLB for racial slurs, coming from a man who is quit possibly one of the biggest sleezeballs on the face of the earth, this latest revelation that just happen to come out now for whatever reason holds absolutely no water, whatsoever.
John Rocker is a joke. He is a pathetic excuse for a human being. I wouldn't believe him if he told me Grant was burried in Grant's tomb. He is a washed up has-been who cheated to be what he once was, has always been a jerk, and now he comes out with information that may or may not be true. Maybe he should have given this information to George Mitchell.
I can believe that there was a baseball coverup at any level, that's very likely and probably true. Of the players he listed that were pulled aside and told how to use steroids, 2 of them have tested positive for steroids (himself and Palmiero), and one is fairly obvious (Ivan Rodriguez). For all we know, Alex Rodriguez could have done steroids to, I personally don't think he did, but he could have. However, if there was ever a situation in which the pot was calling the kettle black, or at least hinting to the fact, this is it.
Could this have been a Major League club showing it's stars how to cheat, absolutely. Could it have been one of those High School like assembly's where they show the kids about the different types of drugs and alcohol out there and how to avoid them, although more than half don't listen, sure it could have.
The fact of the matter remains that while we know more about the steroid era each and every day, we still don't know the half of it. There are plenty of sources of information out there; investigators, MLB employees, current and former MLB players, and even journalists and reporters, however, if there is ONE source that absolutely no one should even acknowledge, even more so than Jose Canseco...if there is one source that has absolutely no say in bringing out the truth, or anything, ever, for that matter, it's John Rocker.
And now, I will quote one of my favorite comedians, Ralphie May, in what is something I think, and hope for their sake, that everyone will agree with me on;
John Rocker, SHUT THE HELL UP!
